Video: Dragonette – “Giddy Up”

Album track “Giddy Up” is an upbeat, bubbly cut with buzzing electronic sound effects and a sing-along chorus. The band shows off showing their playful, fun-loving side with a video for the track, which shows them goofing off in their rehearsal space in Canada.

Tour Alert: The Presets, Dragonette and Classixx

This May, The Presets and Dragonette come together for an extensive co-headline across North America. Although coming from opposite sides of the world (Australia and Canada respectively), both share recognition globally for their electric live shows – hailed by audiences and critics as infectious, dynamic and irrepressible.

The Presets tour this May in support of their recently released album Pacifica. Featuring ten prismatic, synth-laced songs, Pacifica ventures boldly into new, uncharted musical territories, traversing both light and shade in energy and emotion.

Fresh from US dates with Major Lazer, Dragonette will be showcasing material from their latest long player Bodyparts. From emotion-packed ballads to fist-pumping anthems, Bodyparts fuses heavy-hitting electro rhythms with pulsing beats, and sing-along choruses.

The Presets captured the world’s imagination with their blitzkrieg sophomore Apocalypso. Spawning five hit singles and Triple Platinum sales in Australia, Apocalypso set dizzying new heights for dance music in Australia. The single “My People” is the longest charting Australian single in ARIA chart history. Pacifica is following suit – acclaimed Album of The Year in a dozen Australian publications, and the single “Ghosts” recently awarded Single of the Year (Readers’ Choice) for at the 4th annual Australian Rolling Stone Awards.

Those who are familiar with Dragonette’s latest album, Bodyparts, know that album opener “Run Run Run” is a slow, synth-heavy cut with booming percussion and sincere lyrics that show a more vulnerable side of the album. Today, the band shares a video for the track, which follows lead singer Martina through crowded, yet lonely, city streets. Juxtaposing glamorous metropolitan lights with dark, gritty cityscapes, the video explores the high and lows we’ve all felt.

Canadian electro-pop trio Dragonette had a busy 2012: after winning a JUNO Award for their hit single “Hello” and performing live on Good Morning America, they released their third critically acclaimed studio album, Bodyparts. The band spent last fall touring in support of the album, delivering their electrified live show to audiences across the US. Now, fans will have another chance to catch Dragonette live when they hit the road next week with Major Lazer.

New: Dragonette – “Rocket Ship”

Canadian electro-pop trio Dragonette is preparing to release their third studio album Bodyparts on September 25th. Along with recently released singles “The Right Woman” and “Let It Go,” the Toronto band has revealed new album track. “Rocket Ship” is a groove-worthy track with a pulsating synth line. Singer Martina’s lyrics and hungry vocals add a layer of sensuality to the track with lines like “I want you to pin me like a poster to the wall.” “Rocket Ship” is just a glimpse into Bodyparts, an anthemic album of edgy electronic dance rock music that the group is notorious for.

Dragonette has teamed up with Talenthouse for a fan-challenge to create a version of the band’s album track “Untouchable” based on the provided lyrics alone, before hearing the band’s version! Among other great prizes, the winning entry will be the official b-side to a future single. Add music, do it as poetry, make it a film – whatever you like – make it yours!

Canadian electro-pop trio Dragonette burst onto the music scene with their infectious hit “Hello,” a collaboration with Martin Solveig.  The song hit Top 10 in over 30 countries as well as achieving platinum status in the US and scoring the band a JUNO Award.  An energetic pop anthem with a pulsing beat, Dragonette unleashed the Let It Go single earlier this month complete with remixes by Laidback Luke, The Knocks and Faustix & Imanos.  Along with the recently released single “The Right Woman,” which was featured on Diane Von Furstenberg’s compilation Proud To Be Woman Vol. 3, Let It Go marks the first of many new tracks to come from the Toronto band as they gear up to release a new full-length.
