Wild Beasts will be releasing their third album, Smother, May 10th on Domino. Listeners can get a sneak peek of what’s to come now by checking out their new track, “Albatross.” It’s a “statement of intent,” as Wild Beasts’ Hayden Thorpe says, and it shows much about where the band is heading and how they’ve grown.
“Albatross” embodies the spirit of Wild Beasts’ third album in its tone and texture. Its layers of abstract sounds are combined to form something typically bold and unique. The single sees the band shed their old skin for a fresh blueprint, combining their distinctive vocal, piano and guitar driven melodies with lush electronic sounds.
