Party God Andrew W.K. is thrilled to announce his first new full-length album in over a decade. The LP showcases Andrew’s signature style of blasting triumphant rock music, with an ever more epic expanse of energizing emotional ecstasy. “I’m going for the sound of pure, unadulterated power; every emotion, every thought, every experience, every sensation, every fear, every joy, every clarity, every confusion, every up, every down… all extruded and concentrated into one thick syrup of super life-force feeling, and then psychically amplified by the celebratory spirit of glorious partying,” explains Andrew. The new release is out March 2, 2018 via Sony Music worldwide.

Andrew W.K. has officially began his first full-band concert outing in five years with “The Party Never Dies Tour“. Andrew brings his party-centric positivity across America and the previously announced UK tour dates are now moving from November to April, 2018. All tickets bought for the November tour will still be honored at the new dates, or can be refunded at the point of purchase. A full list of all dates can be found below.

A one-man music machine possessed by a single-minded, monomaniacal focus on euphoric joy, Andrew lives to spread a singular message: That to party is to exist, and to exist is to party. Andrew continues to passionately deliver his extremely high-energy brand of uplifting entertainment, with an unrelenting commitment to continuing the mission he first embarked upon in 2001, with the release of his debut single and signature tune “Party Hard”, and has never swerved from since. Despite taking on a dizzying array of additional roles that took him into virgin territory for a rock ‘n’ roll musician (ie: advice columnist for the Village Voice and Vice, host of a Cartoon Network kid’s game show, lecturer at Yale, Harvard, Carnegie Mellon and the UK’s Oxford University), Andrew has always remained true to his positive-partying cause. It’s safe to say, Andrew’s hard-partying spirit is showing no signs of softening.

The Music Box in New Orleans

Watch a video of a past performance at The Music Box

The Music Box is an interactive installation comprised of musical architecture. It was created by non-profit organization New Orleans Airlift in collaboration with 25 artists including the international street art star Swoon. The Music Box features a collection of purpose-built shacks and miniature houses, each containing an instrument or having instruments built into its structure. The wooden shacks that make up this “shanty-town” are constructed from salvaged materials reclaimed from a late-18th-century Creole cottage that collapsed on the site several years ago.

Housing a slew of unconventional and inventive instruments, The Music Box offers its visitors a blank canvas to create music in an entirely new way. Between now and the end of June The Music Box will host a series of recordings sessions and pop-up performances in the space by amazing and diverse musicians including Thurston Moore, longtime Swoon collaborators Dark Dark Dark, the beloved Cajun musician Jo-El Sonnier, the sample-based band Javelin, the Brooklyn pop punk duo Japanther, and noise heroes Black Dice.

A final performance by the Shantytown Orchestra will feature an unexpected and eclectic line-up including local musicians like  Donald Miller (of the legendary 1980’s noise band Borbetomagus),  to Rosalie “Lady Tambourine” Washinton,  a familiar New Orleans character who plays with gospel acts as well as the Neville Brothers. They will be joined by out-of town performers including the transgendered harpist Baby Dee, (a collaborator of Will Oldman and Antony and the Johnsons), Magas, the electronic wizard of Chicago, and the Brooklyn-duo Javelin. These June 8th and 9th concerts mark the very last chance to experience a full orchestral performance at The Music Box before the installation is taken down at the end of June 2012.
