Fresh off their second US tour of the year, CSS have released the video for “City Grrrl,” the second single off their latest album, La Liberacion. The eye-popping, colorful video shows Lovefoxxx with the pink hair and black lipstick heralded in the song’s chorus, showing her effortless swagger. The track is one of lead singer Lovefoxxx’s most autobiographical songs to date.
She explains: “I revisited my teenage years while living in the suburbs of my hometown. I’d be on the floor of my bedroom making the most ridiculous clothes and glue fake colored hair or x-ray pictures on clothes. I’d be sporting goth make up at 8am and when I hit the streets people would curse me from their cars in the most aggressive way. [Calling me] ‘drag queen’, ‘whore.’ “ The song captures the sentiment of feeling like a true outsider and yearning to escape to a big city to find fellow outcasts.
The video for Outasight‘s track “Tonight is the Night” has been released! Check it out! I don’t know about you, but it makes me wanna parrrrrrr-ty…and ride bikes through the city at night.
Things are really taking off for Outasight. He’s just taped a performance for an episode of 90210 that will air in December and appeared on VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live yesterday. “Tonight Is The Night” is one of the hottest songs in the country right now as the song has starting burning up the radio charts. In its first week at radio, “Tonight Is The Night” was the #1 most added song on Top 40 radio.
Billboard recently ran a story where Outasight reflects on the sudden exposure. “There are so many ways to distinguish yourself, doing shows, doing mixtapes, or doing videos, and the label has been extremely supportive in all that process,” Outasight says. “Things are really starting to whirl now. It’s been a lot of hard work to get to this point, but it’s fun. It’s real. I’ve enjoyed it and I’m taking it all in.”
Copenhagen’s The Asteroids Galaxy Tour have been winning over audiences globally with their unique brand of cutting edge, soulful, infectious pop. Since forming in 2007, the Danish group has racked up accomplishments that includes having singles featured in two global television ads and successful US tours. The band is now gearing up to release its second album, Out Of Frequency, January 31, 2012 on BMG Rights.
The band played to voracious crowds on their last US our including a sold show at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom. Check out the video above for “Major.” The slinky tune will seduce you with its 70’s blaxploitation-esque horn stabs and edgy vocals that are the perfect balance of commanding and sweet.
Brandishing a signature sound that infuses indie-pop with neo-psychedelia, dance and retro-futuristic soul, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour never fail to produce addictive tunes that don’t sacrifice imagination. They deliver yet another unforgettable anthem with “Heart Attack” with its instantly memorable melody and a caffeinated beat guaranteed to invade dance floors. Title track “Out Of Frequency” highlights the soulful side of the band with its smoky nostalgic atmosphere and “Fantasy Friend Forever” has all the elements of an ecstatic psych-pop explosion with it’s thumpin’ beat and addictive hooks, making it nearly impossible for listeners not to get out of their seats.
Before embarking on their current European Tour, Architecture in Helsinki snuck off to Australia’s Gold Coast with their good friends and fellow Melburnians Krozm, who had mentioned to them earlier in the year that they’d met a Pyrotechnician who had offered them use of his Animatronic Dolphins.
As the band recount, “This sounded too good to be true, so we pinky swore that we’d make our dolphin dream a reality. We later found out that these same dolphins were used in the 90’s version of Flipper, featuring Jessica Alba, which only made the prospect of this clip more exciting.”
They add that “In a nutshell, ‘W.O.W’ acts the soundtrack to a film about one man’s quest to find answers and in turn his place in the natural universe. Somewhere along the line we convinced Cameron to make his acting debut, which included him swimming fully clothed in freezing water for a whole day.”
Next week AIH embark on their final US Tour for the Aria-nominated (for Best Pop Release) “Moment Bends,” so be sure not to miss the last opportunity to see them for quite a while.

Nashville-based SafetySuit has just revealed the new video for “Let Go.” It’s the latest single from the forthcoming album set to release early next year.
Coming off the heels of their 2008 release, Life Left To Go and hit single “Stay” (which garnered the band the coveted “You Oughta Know” spot on VH1), the Universal Republic signed pop-rockers have continued to hone their fun and playful energy into a downright hookfest of arena ready rock anthems.
Jamaican dancehall artist, Daniel “Chino” McGregor, unleashes his second video “Driving Me Insane,” off his debut self-titled album released May 24, 2011 on VP Records. As the son of reggae icon Freddie McGregor and brother of acclaimed producer Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor, Chino is not only part of a reggae dynasty, but poses a new formula in reggae and dancehall music. His first video and single “From Mawnin’ (Never Change),” was recently chosen asNPR’s Song Of The Day , stating thatChino has a “sexy-yet-sweet persona” and “smooth sing-jay vocals.” He was also awarded Best Male Sing-jay at Jamaica’s 2010 Excellence in Music and Entertainment Awards (EME) and gained numerous corporate sponsorships in Jamaica, including the spokesperson for Coke Zero and Nestle Supligen.

VHS or Beta’s upcoming album, Diamonds & Death, is a journey full of thrilling moments and unexpected turns. The album’s electronic foundation is a byproduct of the many nights VHS OR BETA DJs have manned the decks and remixes they have done in the last few years. The self-produced album travels spectacular heights to gut-wrenching plunges and is an emotional rollercoaster. The songs unfold and mutate in unpredictable ways that will transfix dance floors and bedrooms alike. Diamonds & Death will be released September 27 on Krian Music Group/Chromosome Records.
The “Breaking Bones” MP3 was released a few weeks ago and now the band has revealed the stylishly colorful and slightly risqué new video for the track. With a skittering beat, keyboards stabs and a transfixing vocal melody, “Breaking Bones” immediately submerges you into the album and explodes into a guitar-fueled chorus.
Title track “Diamonds & Death” transforms from a minimal synth track into a dance floor behemoth. “I Found a Reason” is a pulsating summer anthem with a soaring refrain built on a foundation of rubbery bass, swooning synth and housey piano chords. Diamonds & Death is an unpredictable journey full of breathtaking epic song-scapes.
The two main creative engines behind VHS OR BETA’s decade-long career, Craig Pfunder and Mark Palgy, relocated to Brooklyn from Louisville over the last two years. Be sure to catch them live on a national tour with Ladytron if you’re able!

I Love You, Dude, the sophomore album from Digitalism features 10 tracks, each of which has their own vibrant identity. They set the bar high for themselves, and deliver with an amazing album featuring tracks like “Forrest Gump,” co-written with Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, “Circles,” with its Who-ish keyboard and apparently existential lyrics, and standout pop single “2 Hearts.”
Upcoming new album, Blue Songs sees Hercules’ mastermind Andy Butler broaden his musical palette – “There’s definitely jacking house and there’s definitely even more full-blown disco, but there’s also more experimental, softer music” he explains.
Be sure to catch the band on their extensive US tour as part of the Identity Festival to coincide with the release this summer.
