Check out the latest track from Hooray For Earth called “Never.” The A/B single “Never/Forget” will be available on August 21 via Dovecote and mixed by Chris Coady (Blonde Redhead, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, etc).
Today The Presets revealed their new single “Ghosts”, from their forthcoming album Pacifica (out digitally on September 10 and in stores the 11th via Casablanca). The single will be available on iTunes August 21.
Minor-keyed Merengue grooves are topped with First Fleet melodies, while synth washes and skittering beats glide effortlessly across the track’s rollicking, undulating peaks and valleys.
“When Julian played me his initial sketch of this song it utterly blew my mind, “ explains Kim. “Taking a classic folk style, sea shanty and adding it to an up tempo techno groove was just genius to my ears.”
The Presets recently released the video for Pacifica track “Youth in Trouble”. Watch the kaleidoscopic pixilated roller coaster, created by New York based visual artist Yoshi Sodeoka, here. The single and remix package for “Youth In Trouble” are available now on iTunes.

The Wallflowers have announced their long-awaited new studio album Glad All Over will be released on October 2, 2012 by Columbia Records. The band’s new single, “Reboot The Mission,” is a Clash-inspired track with an unmistakable shuffle backbeat, featuring Mick Jones on vocals and guitar. The song will be available for FREE beginning this Tuesday, July 24th at www.thewallflowers.com. The single is set to impact radio on July 23rd.
Recently wrapping recording in Nashville, TN at Easy Eye Sound studio, the new album finds frontman Jakob Dylan joining original band members Greg Richling (bass) and Rami Jaffee (keyboards), with The Wallflowers’ longtime guitarist Stuart Mathis and drummer Jack Irons (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam) rounding out the lineup. The album is being produced by Jay Joyce (Emmylou Harris, Cage the Elephant) and mixed by Rich Costey (Bruce Springsteen).
“Youth In Trouble” is the first taste of new music to come from The Presetsin over four years. The track is a never-ending, undulating slice of face-melting techno. Their new album, Pacifica, is due out in September on Casablanca. The Presets are also releasing remixes of “Youth In Trouble” by Green Velvet, Alex Metric, plus The Finger Prince & Light Year. Featuring ten prismatic, synth-laced songs, Pacifica sees The Presets boldly venture into new, uncharted musical territories. Traversing both light and shade in energy and emotion, the album was produced by the band – Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes – and mixed in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer.
Canadian electro-pop trio Dragonette is preparing to release their third studio album Bodyparts on September 25th. Along with recently released singles “The Right Woman” and “Let It Go,” the Toronto band has revealed new album track. “Rocket Ship” is a groove-worthy track with a pulsating synth line. Singer Martina’s lyrics and hungry vocals add a layer of sensuality to the track with lines like “I want you to pin me like a poster to the wall.” “Rocket Ship” is just a glimpse into Bodyparts, an anthemic album of edgy electronic dance rock music that the group is notorious for.
Dragonette has teamed up with Talenthouse for a fan-challenge to create a version of the band’s album track “Untouchable” based on the provided lyrics alone, before hearing the band’s version! Among other great prizes, the winning entry will be the official b-side to a future single. Add music, do it as poetry, make it a film – whatever you like – make it yours!
Contest begins today and ends August 17. Click HERE for entry and submission details!

“Here’s the first song I wanted you to hear from my new record, “The Origin of Love.” This is not a single but a song I really love and wanted to share with you.
I commissioned a short film which I felt perfectly captured the sentiment of the track. The film was directed by Iouri Philippe Paillé and was made in Montreal. This is where the entire album started taking shape a year ago with Nick Littlemore at Planet Studios in Papineau.
I can’t wait for you to hear the first single and the rest of the album very, very soon.” – Mika
