Fedde Le Grand Remixes Coldplay’s “Paradise”

With 4 number one records, countless stellar remixes, a host of breath-taking videos and 3 non-stop world tours, 2011 will go down as Fedde Le Grand’s most productive and successful year to date! In saying that however, the Dutchman has still saved the very best for last – because his undeniably luscious remix of Coldplay’s stunning “Paradise” plucked straight from the forthcoming album Mylo Xyloto, is finally upon us!
Already a huge fan of Coldplay, and having knocked up his own private edits of various masterpieces such as “Clocks” (yes, the whole world wanted that one), Fedde now officially steps up to the remix plate with what is an emotive, driving, goose-bump inducing masterpiece. Le Grand’s flawless production combined with Chris Martin’s impeccable ability to deliver the most renowned vocal make this Fedde Le Grand’s best work yet, fact!
Having premiered on Pete Tong’s radio show on Friday 14th October and with full support from Coldplay over the weekend, “Paradise” gets it’s PRE-RELEASE today!
“Paradise” is available on Toolroom Records and exclusively at Beatport. The record is not only set to be a hit at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event, where Fedde performs at both the DJMag Top 100 party and his own Annual Takeover Event; it bears the all the hallmarks of becoming another world-wide blockbuster!

New Video: SafetySuit – “Let Go”

Nashville-based SafetySuit has just revealed the new video for “Let Go.” It’s the latest single from the forthcoming album set to release early next year.

Coming off the heels of their 2008 release, Life Left To Go and hit single “Stay” (which garnered the band the coveted “You Oughta Know” spot on VH1), the Universal Republic signed pop-rockers have continued to hone their fun and playful energy into a downright hookfest of arena ready rock anthems.

New Album: Juan Maclean – “Everybody Get Close”

Since the release of  2009’s The Future Will Come, John “Juan” Maclean has stayed quite busy remixing artists like Chairlift, Matthew Dear, The Tough Alliance and forthcoming remixes for Yoko Ono and Stevie Nicks. He’s also appeared on both the Holy Ghost! Static on the Wire! EP (shredding guitar solo!) and took front man duties on Shit Robot’s “Grim Receiver”. Juan Maclean is now gearing up for the October 25th release of Everybody Get Close on DFA Records. The digital only album features previously released outtakes and re-mastered tracks as well as remixes from some of his most talented colleagues. For an early taste of the record, you can listen where it is streaming on SPIN.com all week.

Stream album: Juan Maclean – Everybody Get Close

Interspersed among the eleven songs are five that originally appeared on Find A Way, an EP only previously available at Juan Maclean live shows. “Find A Way” opens the record with call-and-response vocals from Maclean and bandmate Nancy Whang atop an electronic pop base, followed by “Let’s Talk About Me,” which bounds blissfully throughout. “Deviant Device” is laden with dubby percussion and echo-drenched synths reminiscent of Basic Channel. “X2” offers up wide hall of house and robotized vocals. Short and sweet track “The Robot” is filled with mechanical sounds and extraterrestrial noises. “Feel So Good,” from the DJ-Kicks compilation also features vocals from Whang and is built on a rolling loop and an indefatigable beat provided by late drummer Jerry Fuchs. Japanese bonus track “When I Am With You” leisurely moves along on a relaxing romantic groove. Album closer and title track “Everybody Get Close” has mechanical vocals and funky synth bleats that show faint traces of major influences like Zapp and S.O.S. band, respectively.

Juan Maclean and Nancy Whang have begun work on The Juan Maclean’s 3rd LP for DFA Records. In the meantime the digital compilation Everybody Get Close, serves as a handy compilation and welcome reminder of the music Juan Maclean has contributed to both the dance and indie community. It also can only hint at what might come next from the chameleon-like Juan Maclean.

Fatboy Slim vs. Moguai

He’s recently returned from a jam-packed Asian tour, he’s been churning out quality remixes for A-list superstars on what seems like a daily basis, and he is currently putting the finishing touches on his latest artist album for Mau5trap. But why would the unrelenting Moguai stop there?
Not one to rest on his laurels, the German dynamo has decided to step up his game yet another notch, this time re-working one of Fatboy Slim’s all-time big beat classics, “Ya Mama”! Staying true to Norman Cook’s original iconic vocal samples throughout, Moguai puts his own vigorous spin on proceedings, transforming Slim’s masterpiece into a frenetic, five minute bass-infused monster, to all but guarantee the masses will be “shaking what their mama gave them” till the wee hours. It’s out NOW, exclusively at Beatport!

Free Download: Misfits – “Twilight of the Dead”

Punk rock legends the Misfits have released The Devil’s Rain, the band’s first album in nearly a decade!  It was produced by Ed Stasium, who’s credits include the Ramones’ Road to Ruin and Too Tough to Die, as well as the Misfits’ 1999 release Famous Monsters.  Celebrating the occasion, they’ve release a free mp3 for one of the album’s tracks, “Twilight of the Dead.”

The Devil’s Rain packaging is designed to emulate a CD sized gatefold LP, featuring some incredible new Misfits portraits shot by the iconic Mick Rock.  It also showcases a jaw-dropping, two-panel front/back cover painting featuring the rebirth of the band’s iconic “Fiend” mascot in an epic setting rendered by Arthur Suydam (known for his immensely popular work on the Marvel Zombies series, among others).

The band’s current lineup – consisting of founding member Jerry Only on vocals/bass, Black Flag alum Dez Cadena, and drummer Eric “Chupacabra” Arce – just kicked off an extensive US tour.  For both fans of their classics and newcomers discovering the band for the very first time, The Devil’s Rain embodies the ferocity and melody that have made the Misfits omnipresent and immortal.  One thing is certain, The Misfits are here to stay and every day is Halloween.

Video: MUTEMATH – Blood Pressure

Rock innovators MUTEMATH have been selected as VH1’s “You Oughta Know” artist for the month of November. Launched in 2004, VH1’s “You Oughta Know” program introduces promising new artists on the rise to VH1’s base of music lovers. Many You Oughta Know” artists have gone on to win industry awards and accolades including “Best New Artist” Grammy Awards and nominations.  This highly acclaimed franchise has helped break artists such as Adele, Bruno Mars, The Civil Wars, Foster The People, The Fray, Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, James Blunt, Mumford & Sons, Sara Bareilles, Regina Spektor and many, many others.

The Grammy-nominated band released their new album Odd Soul October 4, 2011 on Teleprompt/Warner Bros. Records.   MUTEMATH celebrated with a release day performance of the first single off Odd Soul, “Blood Pressure” on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Watch here.

The video for “Blood Pressure,” which is climbing the charts at Alternative Radio, premiered last week on all of the MTV channels. MUTEMATH, who received a “Best Short Form Music Video” Grammy Award nomination in 2007 for their single “Typical,” conceived, coordinated and shot the “Blood Pressure” clip in less than 24 hours. It was edited entirely by drummer Darren King.

“Blood Pressure” and Odd Soul are already receiving critical praise. The NY Post called the track “fantastic” and Alternative Press praised the album as “brimming with raw, bluesy riffs and psychedelic guitar squeals…MUTEMATH explore emotional depths both sonically and lyrically, bringing a new sense of urgency to their music. 4 ½ stars.” The New Orleans band is currently previewing songs off the album on a headlining tour.
