Alfie Templeman – Forever Isn’t Long Enough

18 year old rising star Alfie Templeman has released his brand new mini-album Forever Isn’t Long Enough on Chess Club Records (MØ, Mumford and Sons, Jungle etc). Previous EP Happiness In Liquid Form followed Templeman’s trio of rapturously received EP’s – 2018’s Like An Animal, and 2019’s Sunday Morning Cereal and Don’t Go Wasting Time – in introducing the world to a prodigiously talented young musician, songwriter, producer, and performer. The Bedfordshire-born teen, self-taught on 10 different instruments, has enjoyed a meteoric rise and cemented his place as one of UK indie’s brightest lights.

Templeman’s latest single “Everybody’s Gonna Love Somebody” is currently on the B List at BBC Radio 1, following his fourth consecutive Hottest Record in the World with Annie Mac. Templeman has also shared the music video for mini-album track “Wait, I Lied”, directed by Thomas Davis.

Speaking about the new video Alfie says: “We filmed “Wait, I Lied” in a couple hours. The thing that I love about it is that the whole video was just ideas myself and Thomas came up with on the spot, it’s totally spontaneous, we didn’t plan anything and just went for it. I hope people appreciate my amazing dance moves, I think it’ll be my next career if this music thing doesn’t work out!!”

Alfie Templeman will also embark on a Spring 2022 headline tour – including his biggest show to date at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on Mar 16 – as well as supporting Declan McKenna in the UK and heading out on a maiden US headline tour, alongside shows with Chloe Moriondo later this year. Full list of live dates below.

Featuring rapturous singles “Forever Isn’t Long Enough” and the aforementioned “Everybody’s Gonna Love Somebody”, the new mini-album is Templeman’s final and most substantial body of work before recording starts on his proper debut album. Templeman explains: “I wanted to make a refined and focused pop record – something more widescreen than an EP but more concise than a full-length album -with a feel somewhere between Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours and Tame Impala’s Currents. In making Forever Isn’t Long Enough I realised that I needed to slow down a little and work on things carefully. The songs took anywhere from one day to 4 months to 2 years to finish for this record, but I made sure each one was perfect and I’ve never been more proud of how they all came out.”

With an impressive 106k Instagram followers since his first post in 2019, over 1 million monthly Spotify listeners, and a cumulative streaming figure of over 60 million,  Alfie Templeman has come a long way since the release of debut track “Like An Animal”. At one point in 2020, Templeman had three songs in the Music Moves Europe Talent Chart Top 20; was featured as the cover star of Dork Magazine; was included in the FIFA 21 soundtrack; in February, was H&M Artist of the Month in the UK, with accompanying store visuals and playlist support. Templeman was previously handpicked by Apple from a global shortlist of rising artists to front their #shotoniphone campaign and was chosen by YouTube Music to be a worldwide ‘Foundry Artist’ in 2020, following in the footsteps of artists such as Dua Lipa and Rosalia, featuring on 90-foot billboards in Times Square in NYC and Central LA.

Listen: iSHi – “There For Me” ft. Shenie Fogo

magnumpr_iSHiThereForMe--1

After taking a break since his smash hit “We Run” to concentrate on developing his sound, iSHi is back in full swing with “There For Me,” which features the gripping vocals of Shenie Fogo. Videos for both tracks are below.

iSHi first saw success in 2011 when his musical abilities were employed by Tinie Tempah to produce “Written In The Stars,” which sold over 3 million singles, generated over 60 million streams, and topped the UK charts at #1 and #6 on the Hot 100. A few years later, iSHi recruited the vocal and songwriting talents of Pusha T for his 2015 hit “Push It,” and garnered more than 17 million streams on Spotify. In addition, his work sparked the interest of Professor Green, resulting in their collaboration on “Read All About It,” which sold over 500 thousand units and landed at #1 on the UK charts. iSHi has been tapped by renowned artists Coldplay, Steve Angello, Kygo and Avicii for official remixes. His last release, “We Run,” featuring famed artists French Montana, Wale & Raekwon currently holds over 3 million streams on Spotify alone. He has since been receiving support from heavy hitters such as Capital Xtra, Shade 45, Hot 97’s DJ Enuff and Annie Mac who dubbed “We Run” as her “Hottest Record in the World” on her BBC Radio One series.

Martin Solveig – The Night Out EP

When Martin Solveig’s live performance of ‘The Night Out’ at Radio 1’s celebration of Pete Tong’s 20 years at the station prompted the veteran disc jockey to ask for a copy pronto, it gave a clear indicator that the record – written, produced and performed by Solveig – had a very bright future.
Several months on, and having contributed heavily on Madonna’s latest studio album, ‘MDNA’ – including the lead single ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’ featuring Nicki Minaj and MIA – Solveig’s focus returns once again to his ‘SMASH’ project. ‘The Night Out’ E.P is packed to the seams with a raft of remixes and bonus material that’ll cater to all fans, both new and old.
The A-Trak remix set the ball rolling having topped the Hype Machine as well as receiving full support from both Annie Mac and Pete Tong over recent weeks. Always keen to exploit up and coming talent, Solveig also welcomes in newcomers TheFatRat for what will be a firm favourite in big arenas, as well as new duo Maison & Dragen.
Martin’s own take on A-trak’s remix makes for great aural pleasure, and then comes the inclusion of ‘Can’t Stop’ into the package, providing another slab of pure pop fun from Martin Solveig & Dragonette. Throw in a truly awesome instrumental version of Ready 2 Go (Initial SHE version), a Don Diablo take on ‘Hello’ with the rapper iSH (Why Are We Whispering remix) AND finally the Les Bros remix of ‘Big in Japan’ and the realisation will dawn that this is indeed one hell of an E.P.

New Mix: The 2 Bears – Whatever the Weather

Today sees the US release of The 2 Bears’ debut album, Be Strong, which is available on vinyl and CD from the DFA store, and digitally via iTunes. In celebration of the full-length release, the Bears are sharing a new mix, “Whatever The Weather,” which premiered on Spinner RPM. The mix features new tracks from DFA labelmates Factory Floor, as well as tracks from Armand Van Helden, Henrik Schwarz, Gino Soccio, Davina and more. You can still snag the first free single from the album, “Work,” via DFA’s Soundcloud too!

A London record through and through, Be Strong ducks and weaves to the myriad sounds of the city, as The 2 Bears pursue the perfect party record.  Raf Daddy – aka Raphael Rundell – met Joe Goddard (taking time out from his day job as one fifth of Hot Chip) through a party scene that saw them share deck duties at the legendary Greco-Roman parties. Upon venturing into the studio in an attempt to replicate some of the records that they’d lost themselves in the night before, Raf found himself laying down vocals over Joe’s skipping, bassomatic backing tracks safe in the knowledge that they’d soon be replaced by someone with sweeter, more melodious tones. In the end, it was Raf’s voice that characterized and personalized The 2 Bears.

Over its ten tracks, Be Strong conjures up that elusive spirit of the dancefloor without pretension, and with ultimate precision. It’s a soul record in that it’s from the soul, wearing its imperfections with pride. It’s a dance record in that it’ll get you off your seat. It’s a London record in that it couldn’t have come from any other city in 2011, echoing the glorious schizophrenic sound of a late night cab ride listening to a radio with a mind of its own. With minimal effort and maximum respect from their peers, tracks began to be hammered in clubs and on radio by the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Erol Alkan, Pete Tong and Annie Mac.  This summer’s Bear Hug EP cranked things up yet another notch with Chris Moyles giving the track some early morning airings and Elton John and Paul McCartney declaring themselves fans.
