Check ‘Em Out: Braque

Braque

Listen: Braque – V1CES EP

BRAQUE is a UK (London) based multi-instrumentalist, he is also a writer, producer, and most of all artist who creates everything himself.

BRAQUE is part of a loose collective of musicians including the highly acclaimed BASTILLE and RAG N BONE MAN. Having written, produced and set up the BEST LAID PLANS label with both of these artists, BRAQUE now believes the time is right to forge ahead as a solo artist.

Influenced by artists like Prince and Kanye, BRAQUE creates shiny modern pop music with a definite slightly darker edge, underpinned by a strong, soaring vocal and grainy, artful imagery. This is definitely not throwaway bubblegum pop music, but an artist who wants to be taken seriously.

BRAQUE’S vision behind the V1CES EP is that each song encapsulates a vice that we have in our lives. This EP will be the first in a Trilogy and contains two singles, “Secrets” and a cover of Everything But the Girl’s “Miss the Rain”.

If you’re liking these, make sure to check out the whole EP (link above).

Listen: Lane 8 feat. Bipolar Sunshine – “I Got What You Need (Every Night)”

Ministry of Sound and Above & Beyond’s acclaimed melodic house label, Anjunadeep, have joined forces to release one of late summer’s hottest house anthems, Lane 8 featuring Bipolar Sunshine’s “I Got What You Need (Every Night)”. Zane Lowe gave the single its worldwide premiere on Radio 1 via a ‘Future Exclusive’, while to date; the original version of “Every Night” has hit the Beatport Deep House Top 10, and garnered approximately 500,000 plays on Soundcloud and 800,000 views on YouTube.

Lane 8 aka Daniel Goldstein is the fast-rising US house producer championed by Pete Tong (who selected him as a ‘Future Star’ on Radio 1), Zane Lowe, MistaJam, B.Traits, Aeroplane, Tensnake, Kidnap Kid, Majestic Casual and many more. Originally from San Francisco, but currently residing in Leipzig, Germany, his debut single for Anjunadeep, “Be Mine” topped the Hype Machine chart, following previous success with cult label, French Express. Amongst his growing international fanbase is Eric Prydz, who recently chose him to remix his new single,”Liberate”. Further remixes for Above & Beyond and Josh Record have helped position Goldstein as one of the most promising young producers on the planet.

Bipolar Sunshine aka Adio Marchant is the hotly-tipped Manchester singer whose music crosses hip-hop, indie, nu-soul, alt-rap, dance, psychedelia, electronic and Beatlesy pop. With 4 Hype Machine No.1s to date, he’s caught the ears of fans and critics alike including Radio 1, Sunday Times, The Guardian and beyond via the EPs “Aesthetics” (the lead track, “Rivers” was iTunes Single Of The Week) and “Drowning Butterflies”. A genuine star in the making, his extensive touring, including live shows at Glastonbury, Bestival, and beyond, plus support slots with London Grammar, Bastille and Lily Allen, have cemented his reputation yet further.

Josh Record

Listen: Josh Record – “Wide Awake”

Standing on the shoulders of his musical heroes, Bon Iver and Swedish multi-instrumentalist Tingsek, Josh Record releases his stunning debut album Pillars on Virgin/EMI July 14th.

Having been tipped by Q Magazine, The Sunday Times Culture, iTunes, Radio 1, XFM, The Sun and VEVO at the turn of the year, Pillars does not disappoint with Josh’s joyous uplifting, melodic songs weaving their way into your very being.

Written by Josh (two songs were co-written with long-time collaborator Tom Prothero) and co-produced with David Kosten (Bat For Lashes), the album was recorded largely in Oxford and London, and features the Radio 1 and Radio 2 playlisted hit “For Your Love”.

Other highlights include “The War” the track that launched Josh when picked up by Zane Lowe off YouTube, the radio hit “Bones”, the lung busting epic “Finally”, and the new single “Wide Awake”.

Already a veteran on the road with shows supporting Bastille, Lorde, London Grammar and Sam Smith, Josh Record has sold out all his headline shows to date and is set to play summer festivals throughout the UK and Europe including Glastonbury, T in The Park, Rock and Park, Rock AM Ring, Wilderness and V Festival.
