Mord Fustang Reveals Lead Single From Forthcoming 2015 Debut Album

Mord Fustang

Listen: Mord Fustang – “Drivel”

Following numerous Beatport Top 10 smashes and a slew of top festival and club appearances, DJ/producer Mord Fustang announces plans to release his debut album, 9999 in 1, on his own label Magic Trooper in early 2015. Finally lifting the curtain on the enigmatic wizard famed for merging teched-out house, disco, electro, glitch, and hard bass grooves in a single track.

Now, following an exclusive premiere with EDM.com, Mord releases lead single “Drivel”, his first new track since he took the dance world by storm with breakthrough 2011 hits “The Electric Dream,” “Lick The Rainbow,” “Milky Way,” “Magic Trooper,” “Champloo” and “Taito” on the renowned Plasmapool label.

Paying homage to his video game roots, Drivel is an electro-house anthem laced with the primitive sounds contained on the bootleg Nintendo cartridges of his youth – the first electronic music he’d ever heard. A true “classic Mord track” as he calls it, Drivel sets the tone for the electronic concept album that is 9999 in 1, who’s title derives from the random numbers on the plastic yellow cartridges of his first bootleg video games. “The album is a 8-bit homage I have for those games,” Mord states of 9999 in 1.

From remixing for the likes of LMFAO, Morgan Page, and CeCe Penniston to being voted Beatport’s “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” in 2012, Mord fast became an in-demand global attraction, bringing his laptop-smashing DJ/live performance everywhere from London’s legendary Ministry of Sound to the U.S.’s Coachella, Lollapalooza, Electric Zoo, and Ultra music festivals.

It was this success that laid the foundation for Mord Fustang’s artist album debut, a masterwork created over a two year stay in Los Angeles that builds on the innovative groundwork he’s already built, and trailblazes into some unexpected zones, too.

With more tracks to be revealed in the coming months, Mord is certainly a producer to keep your eyes and ears on this fall.

Ministry of Sound and Above & Beyond’s acclaimed melodic house label, Anjunadeep, have joined forces to release one of late summer’s hottest house anthems, Lane 8 featuring Bipolar Sunshine’s “I Got What You Need (Every Night)”. Zane Lowe gave the single its worldwide premiere on Radio 1 via a ‘Future Exclusive’, while to date; the original version of “Every Night” has hit the Beatport Deep House Top 10, and garnered approximately 500,000 plays on Soundcloud and 800,000 views on YouTube.

Lane 8 aka Daniel Goldstein is the fast-rising US house producer championed by Pete Tong (who selected him as a ‘Future Star’ on Radio 1), Zane Lowe, MistaJam, B.Traits, Aeroplane, Tensnake, Kidnap Kid, Majestic Casual and many more. Originally from San Francisco, but currently residing in Leipzig, Germany, his debut single for Anjunadeep, “Be Mine” topped the Hype Machine chart, following previous success with cult label, French Express. Amongst his growing international fanbase is Eric Prydz, who recently chose him to remix his new single,”Liberate”. Further remixes for Above & Beyond and Josh Record have helped position Goldstein as one of the most promising young producers on the planet.

Bipolar Sunshine aka Adio Marchant is the hotly-tipped Manchester singer whose music crosses hip-hop, indie, nu-soul, alt-rap, dance, psychedelia, electronic and Beatlesy pop. With 4 Hype Machine No.1s to date, he’s caught the ears of fans and critics alike including Radio 1, Sunday Times, The Guardian and beyond via the EPs “Aesthetics” (the lead track, “Rivers” was iTunes Single Of The Week) and “Drowning Butterflies”. A genuine star in the making, his extensive touring, including live shows at Glastonbury, Bestival, and beyond, plus support slots with London Grammar, Bastille and Lily Allen, have cemented his reputation yet further.

Introducing: Danny Avila

Danny Avila, the 16-year-old Spanish DJ and producer who recently floored clubbers in London and Germany with astonishing debut performances alongside the likes of Fedde le Grand and Martin Solveig, announced today his official summer residency at Blue Marlin Ibiza.

The iconic venue, which each year plays host to the beautiful, the jet-set and the who’s who of Balearic royalty, welcomes Avila as their youngest ever resident – and in doing so adds its weight to the growing numbers inside the industry swiftly touting Danny as one of the most exciting talents to hit house for years.

To give you just a taste of what Blue Marlin can expect from Avila, check out his official video from Ministry of Sound in London. Making his first ever UK appearance at the express invitation of le Grand for the Dutchman’s roadblock Takeover party back in February, his two and a half hour set blew the capital’s collective clubbing mind. In the words of one London clubber, “Danny Avila was the madness – he’s one of the DJs of the year!”
