Listen: Whiiite’s New Miiilkcrate Radio Series!

whiiite

Following his recent nomination as one of the Top 10 L.A. DJs by The L.A. Sun Times with Dillon Francis, Kill Paris, Kill The Noise and Ookay, today Hollywood producer/DJ Whiiite sets out on his winter mini-tour hitting Kansas City, Murfreesboro, Las Vegas and more – full tour routing is below.

Along with this exciting announcement, the fifth podcast in Whiiite’s new Miiilkcrate Radio series is here and it’s absolutely stacked! Falcons x Mike G “Oh!” (Ciara x Ludacris) is fire and kicks things off with a bang, and tracks from Galantis, SNBRN, The Weeknd, Aaliyah, Jack U and more keep the energy flowing. The massive “No Type of Landline” remix from Rae Sremmurd, A-Trak and GTA begins the transition into some rap tracks including a killer Biggie x Ice Cube mashup. The carefully crafted mix also features also a brief section of hard hitting trap with Gladiator before things begin to settle down. Whiiite weaves g-house, R&B and hip hop together with highly danceable beasts throughout the podcast, including his fresh new remix of Juicy J’s “Low” (Whiiite’s Future1Hundred Mix) which you can download for free right HERE.

Musically Fashionable

The Music Tee is a new product line that combines digital music and t-shirt fashion in one eye and ear-catching package.  Each Music Tee features an artist (or compilation) with a graphic image (“cover art”) on the front of the shirt and a track listing on the back. Each shirt comes with a unique code that can be used to download a digital copy of the album featured on the shirt, redeemable at www.themusictee.com.  The result is a new way of delivering music to fans, allowing them to easily fill their iPod while landing the “album art” a coveted place in their wardrobe!

Already generating a huge buzz state-side, The Music Tee boasts over fifty artist collaborations, including The Cold War Kids,  Amanda Blank,  Mos Def, Monsters of Folk and more. The line has also launched a “vintage” collection, featuring Bad Brains, Bad  Religion and The Exciter, with more titles coming soon. With festival season upon us, The Music Tee is sure to be a must-have for the summer season.

“The Music Tee has been a phenomenal success in the US by giving artists a new platform to distribute their music,” says Jeremy Wineberg, President of The Music Tee.  “We continue to sign new major label partners and content providers each day.  For the UK launch (June 9th) we wanted to introduce fresh artists and will be kicking off with The Daisy Dares You Music Tee arriving in June. We are excited about engaging music and fashion fans in the UK while continuing to grow our collection of compelling artists.”

“The Music Tee is a unique fashion concept that’s perfect for the summertime,” notes Selfridges Contemporary Buying Manager, Gary Edgley. “Band tees have long been a wardrobe essential and the idea brings an interesting update to a modern style classic.“

The Music Tee

Why hasn’t this been thought of before?

A joint venture between Girlie Action and L.A.-based innovator Invisible DJ, The Music Tee is a new and unique way for musicians to sell their music while creating a new outlet for fans to experience music and album art together again. It’s a shirt that has ‘cover art’ on the front and a track list on the back. Each shirt comes with a hang tag with a unique URL to download the music from TheMusicTee.com. The Music Tee is registered with Nielsen SoundScan, so each download counts as an album sale. The point is to help artists find a new platform to actually sell their music again while combining fashion and music. Past artist tees that are still available include The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Kid Sister,  The Dim Mak Dance Compilation #1, Monsters of Folk, Mos Def and more!

“As fashionistas everywhere know, Saks Fifth Avenue and Barneys are two of the best places in New York to update your closet, but now they are also two of the best places to load your iPod. Thanks to the Music Tee…”

Upcoming: US Album Debut

The Uncomfortable Truth

With two albums out since 2007, Nneka is already an established singer, songwriter and rapper…in the UK. But, this powerful woman with roots in Nigeria and Germany is ready for the States to hear her roar.

Nneka has been compared to Erykah Badu, Mos Def, and Lauryn Hill. She’s played with The Roots, and toured with Lenny Kravitz. Her US album debut, Concrete Jungle, is set for release February 2, 2010. The album is full of soulful, meaningful and catchy songs that can’t be ignored. Her voice is “located between a place of yearning and rage.” Nneka addresses important issues through her music, and still manages to keep her audience entertained. To me, she’s the breakthrough voice we need for the new generation.

Her first released single from Concrete Jungle is “The Uncomfortable Truth.” Have a listen, you might hear something you didn’t expect and have a new favorite female vocalist.
