Tour Dates for The Wailers

wailers

Reggae music has never stopped evolving but for millions of people from around the world it’s still defined by the songs of Bob Marley and the Wailers. It’s been their heartbeat rhythms that have inspired so much of what’s followed since, as evidenced by the enduring popularity of the “one-drop” reggae sound.

The world’s most iconic reggae band The Wailers are currently touring the US, performing the prominent album Legend in its entirety. As they infiltrated reggae music to the world outside of Jamaica, its birth place, The Wailers celebrate their 30th anniversary of the album Legend. Named by Time Magazine as the “Best Album of the 20th Century” and #46 on Rolling Stone Magazine‘s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, Legend is also the best selling reggae album of all time, with over 30 million copies sold worldwide.

The Wailers have consistently toured for the past 40 years, and in doing so, have been keeping the legacy of Bob Marley alive. They are the most successful reggae group in history, having sold over 250 million albums worldwide and played to an estimated 25 million people around the world.  They have left an indelible mark on modern music. After touring in South America, Russia, Middle East, and Europe, The Wailers are eager to bring their good vibrations to festivals and venues across the country this summer.

Formed in the late sixties, The Wailers have created an extraordinary body of work and their music can be heard in every corner of the world today.  Original members included Bob Marley and his vocal partners Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh, alongside the ground-breaking rhythm section of the Barrett brothers, Carlton on drums and Aston “Family Man” on bass. Today, Aston leads the band as it continues its worldwide campaign to promote peace, love and equality through the message of reggae and Rastafari.

Lineup Announced For Lightning In A Bottle

unnamed (4)
The music lineup for the 9th annual Lightning in a Bottle Music and Arts Festival has been announced, featuring Moby, Little Dragon, Phantogram, Gramatik, Beats Antique, Amon Tobin, Baauer, Gold Panda, Simian Mobile Disco, Claude VonStroke and more!

This internationally renowned transformative experience also includes the sounds of The Polish Ambassador, Damian Lazarus, Cashmere Cat, Chet Faker and Lee Burridge. Lucent Dossier Experience will also take the familiar stage to mystify their devout fans with their visually enriched live-performance.

Lightning in a Bottle returns with new dates, from May 22-26 2014, and a new location at San Antonio Recreation Area in Bradley, CA  (Google Maps). This new location at Lake San Antonio sits perfectly between Los Angeles and San Francisco in beautiful Monterey County.
For the past nine years, The Do LaB has shattered all conceptions of the modern gathering, producing the most innovative and inspiring events on the international circuit. Lightning in a Bottle is a fusion of electronic music and introspective qualities of installation art, live performance, spiritual workshops, and an overarching embodiment of cultural and environmental consciousness. Through this focus on unique creativity, Lightning in a Bottle is its own class of gathering.

Much of Lightning in a Bottle’s intimate singularity is expressed through The Lucent Temple of Consciousness, an amazing sanctuary for all participants to enrich the soul and inspire the spirit. The 2014 schedule inside the Lucent Temple, built out of recycled and found objects, will include over 300 different experiences in yoga, workshops, speakers and exotic world music.

image003

Walk Off The Earth have announced a headlining North American tour to start off 2014.  The tour kicks off on Jan 16 in Minneapolis and routes through March 6 in Los Angeles, with Parachute supporting on the run.  A full list of North American tour dates is below.  Tickets will be available for pre-sale today and will go on sale to the general public on Nov 1.  The Canadian band’s lively set incorporates their wildly popular covers with original songs from their Columbia Records debut full length, R.E.V.O., which is available now.  R.E.V.O. features the band’s breakout hit single “Red Hands,” which hit #1 on the Adult Alternative radio charts and entered the Top 15 at the Adult Pop radio format.  Their follow up single “Gang of Rhythm” is impacting at radio now.

Walk Off The Earth were just nominated for a YouTube Music Award in the Response of the Year (best fan remix, parody or response video) category for their cover of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble”, and have been confirmed to perform at the first ever YouTube Music Awards ceremony next month in NYC alongside Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, Eminem, Avicii, MIA, and Earl Sweatshirt.  The YouTube Music Awards celebrate artists who receive the highest levels of engagement with fans from all over the world, through views, likes, shares, comments, subscriptions and more. The inaugural ceremony will be hosted by actor and musician Jason Schwartzman along with comedian Reggie Watts, with Spike Jonze serving as creative director.  Fans can vote at youtube.com/musicawards from now until the live show on November 3 at 6pm ET.

In addition, Walk Off The Earth recently won a CASBY Award at home in Canada, where “Red Hands” has been certified Double Platinum and R.E.V.O. has been certified Gold.  In addition to accepting their award for Favourite New Artist, the group performed a short set for the packed crowd at the event.  Watch the band perform their new single “Gang of Rhythm” at the award show here.

Video: Chase and Status – “Lost & Not Found”

chasestatus

Chase and Status has just released the video for “Lost & Not Found” (feat. Louis M^ttrs), filmed in California, which is the first single to be taken from their eagerly anticipated upcoming third album. The “Lost & Not Found” single will come with remixes from Dream McClean, Kove and Josh Butler, and will be available June 30th via Casablanca Records, right after Chase and Status headline the Other Stage at the world famous Glastonbury Festival.

Casablanca are also proud to announce that Chase and Status has recently been added to the Rock The Bells tour that will see the guys (and some special guest vocalists from the new album) play San Bernardino, San Francisco, Washington DC and New Jersey in September/October. Widely known for its unrivalled hip-hop line ups, this is a unique and exciting opportunity for a largely electronic act like Chase and Status to play alongside the likes of Tyler The Creator, Common, Talib Kweli and Wu Tang Clan: epitomizing just how varied and genre defying Chase and Status really are…

On “Lost & Not Found,” Chase and Status give a nod to the early 90’s rave era that inspires them, the single shows a change in direction for the duo and gives their fans a glimpse of what’s to come with their new record. Always looking to support unknown and underground talent, as they did with their last album No More Idols (Maverick Sabre, Delilah, Liam Bailey etc), “Lost & Not Found” features the talented new artist Louis M^ttrs.

Chase and Status are undoubtedly one of the most exciting and successful British bands of the past decade. Their double platinum, second album No More Idols has sold over 600,000 copies in the UK alone and spawned over 2 million singles. They were the biggest selling band in the UK in 2011, behind Coldplay and last year were nominated for ‘Best British Band’ at the Brit Awards 2012. They have also been nominated for two prestigious Q Awards, won the Q Award in 2010 for Best Video.
