The Royal Concept released their new summer-friendly single “On Our Way” on iTunes last month, and now the band has shared the music video for “On Our Way,” which you can check out below. Following up the incendiary “World On Fire,” “On Our Way” builds from a kinetic groove into another anthemic refrain punctuated by sunny whistling, hand claps, and evocative synths. Given the fervent excitement surround their impending album; the group has partnered up with iTunes to unveil their full-length debut, Wake Up [Republic Records], a week early on the iTunes store. It’ll be available exclusively on iTunes April 23, and it will hit all other retailers one week later on April 30, its official release date.
The band is hot off of string of sold out headlining shows up and down the West Coast along with ten smoking SXSW appearances. They’ll be hitting on the road again starting April 19th in Austin, TX (all dates below). You can also use the hashtag #YBHtour while the band is on the road.
“We Come Running” has become a ubiquitous anthem in its own right. With danceable cadence and a massive refrain, the song resounds with arena-ready energy. The group recently performed the standout track live on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, which you can watch here. Plus, its music video has some real teeth, featuring an audience of sharks and the submersed band members. Theophilus London has been holed up in studios from Paris to Berlin to Brooklyn working on music for his still untitled new album, due this fall. The first taste of the vibe and direction Theophilus is taking for the album can be heard on “Rio,” which was produced by Thomas Brenneck and the Menahan Street Band. The track was exclusively premiered with The Fader and will be available for purchase at iTunes and all DSP’s on Tuesday, April 16th.
Theophilus has a lot of love for “Rio.” “I went to Rio in 2010 to play a festival alongside Erykah Badu and Femi Kuti and it was incredible,” explains TL. “I was only supposed to be down there for a couple days, but wound up staying in Rio for two weeks. The trip gave me so much energy and I met so many amazing people that it inspired me to make a song in Rio’s honor.”
Theophilus will be performing “Rio” on the main stage at Coachella Saturday April 13th and April 20th. He’s also confirmed for Lollapalooza this summer.

When It Was Now, the long awaited and highly anticipated full-length debut from Atlas Genius, is out today! The band wrote, recorded and produced the album at a studio they built in their hometown of Adelaide, Australia. They will perform their hit single, “Trojans,” on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” tonight and play a sold-out record release show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY tomorrow, February 20th. The record release show will be broadcast by SiriusXM Alt Nation on Friday evening and then throughout the weekend.
Their song “Symptoms” is currently the iTunes Single of the Week. New single “If So,” praised by Rolling Stone for its “dream-like guitar licks, shifty hi-hats and a meaty bass backbone,” is already gaining momentum at radio and online, where it has over 75,000 Sound Cloud streams in 2 weeks.

Taking its inspiration from the album artwork, the trailer for When It Was Now was shot underwater. It was directed by Claire Marie Vogel, who lensed the “Trojans” and “Symptoms” videos. When It Was Now is available now at iTunes.
Their sold-out tour with Imagine Dragons is underway and stops at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom on February 23rd and the Wiltern in Los Angeles on March 20th. Atlas Genius will perform at SXSW on March 13th (KCRW’s Official SXSW nighttime showcase) and March 14th (The Warner Sound showcase). They have also just announced new shows at The Bowery Ballroom in New York, Edgefest in Dallas, and Sasquatch! Festival at The Gorge in Washington. Tickets for Atlas Genius’ first-ever North American headline tour have been selling so quickly that many shows have been moved to larger venues. Their Headlining Tour will kick off at Emo’s East in Austin, TX on April 24th and go through the end of June.

Chris Price is releasing his solo debut, Homesick, on PTB Records today. Stepping away from the traditional high-priced studio recording methods, Price recorded his entire album on a device most have in their backpocket or purse – an iPhone. Though he never anticipated recording his debut on an iPhone, Price was impressed with the devices quality and, with the help of 4Track Audio Recorder, began recording with his own personal, mobile studio.
Chris’ track, “That’s Your Boyfriend” was featured as iTunes download of the week and Price will be traveling to various Apple stores in the summer to both perform and demonstrate how to record on the iPhone.

Gemini Club, consisting of Dan Brunelle, Tom Gavin and Gordon Bramli, is a three-piece indie-electronic dance band hailing from Chicago, Illinois. Their unique live shows have been tearing up the scene for the last two years, and commencing dizzying dance parties in every city they go! Far from the conventional live performance, Gemini Club have a specially designed rig that allows for on-the-fly remixing of their own songs meaning each Gemini Club show is different from the last. As a result, Gemini Club has been asked to the support the likes of Chromeo, A-Trak, Two Door Cinema Club, Who-Made-Who, DJ Falcon and Chateau Marmont.
Their first single, “Ghost” came out hot in the blogosphere, resulting in remixes from Hey Champ, Barretso, Golden Bug and Only Children. The track has since been picked up for airplay from BBC Radio 1’s tastemaker show “In New DJs We Trust.”
From the mid-west to the Orient, Gemini Club’s own remix chops are in demand online and across the globe. Their remix for Australian band The Vanish went straight into the top ten of Hype Machine’s charts. The band’s spin on Hey Champ’s “Cold Dust Girl” entered the same top ten charts on five different occasions within a month – and their remix for Shinichi Osawa has been a mainstay on the iTunes dance charts in Japan. Most recently, the gents of GC’s remix of Chilly Gonzales song “You Can Dance” premiered on the RCRD LBL blog as the most downloaded track of the week.

It has been 30 years since Men Without Hats asked the world to dance (if they want to), and this year the Montreal New Wave group will ask the question again with the release of their highly anticipated new album Love In The Age of War (out June 5th on iTunes and everywhere June 12th on Cobraside Records).
Produced by Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy, Marilyn Manson), Love In The Age of War features charismatic front man Ivan Dorschuk (voice & electronics), his brother Colin Doroschuk (vocals), as well as Lou Dawson (vocals & live keyboards), and James Love (guitars).
Love In The Age of War will mark their first album release in albums 10 years, featuring 10 original songs written by Ivan Doroschuk. In 2011, Men Without Hats soared back into the scene with their breakout performance at SXSW, followed by an extensive, well-received North American tour.
Since forming in the late 70’s, the band released six studio albums – having songs featured on hit TV series such as Glee, The Simpsons, Futurama and Family Guy. Their 1980’s hit “The Safety Dance” reached Top 10 in the US, the UK and 25 other countries around the world. In 1983, they picked up a Grammy nomination for Best group. Sure, you can still dance if you want to and Love In The Age of War will give you 10 more reasons why.
