1. Swing Into It feat. HAERTS
2. You’re All Right feat St. Lucia
3. Swing Into It (Chordashian Remix)
4. Swing Into It (Ghosts of Venice Remix)
After almost 15 years of friendship, guitarist, songwriter and producer Keaton Simons (Gnarls Barkley,Snoop Dogg, Tre Hardson of The Pharcyde) and experimental drummer, songwriter and producer Deantoni Parks (The Mars Volta, Bosnian Rainbows, T-Bone Burnett, John Cale of The Velvet Underground) have finally come together to form their newest project, Best Revenge.
“Brother Blue” kicks off with the peculiar menace of a 80s film score. It soon devolves into a sneering rockabilly track, lacerating the listener with both a swaggering guitar and bold, vocal machismo. The lyrics convey wisdom through hurt, and Parks’ drums throb with the pulse of reckoning. This is an accessible song with an authentic blues rock mentality… You don’t hear a new track like this often. — INDIE SHUFFLE
Best Revenge mixes modern and old school sounds for a down-home dirty, raw rock ‘n roll vibe with a modern, technological spin. Keaton sings and plays guitar (including electric and acoustic guitars, as well as baritone and fretless), and Deantoni plays drums while he simultaneously live samples Keaton’s voice andplays it on the keyboard through a series of computerized effects – note: there are no loops in Best Revenge. The result is thoughtful music that excites and feels damn good. With a massive sound coming from just the two artists, this new project calls upon the adage “seeing is believing.”
Deemed “a triple threat” by his hometown’s Los Angeles Times, Keaton Simons has been captivating audiences for years with his raw, gritty voice, soul-baring songwriting, and incomparable, sought-after electric and acoustic guitar work. He’s been brought on as a guitarist, as well as bassist, singer, writer and musical director for such notable acts as Gnarls Barkley, Snoop Dogg, and Tre Hardson of The Pharcyde. With his own solo project, Keaton has co-produced and released records on major labels, licensed hundreds of songs for TV and film, toured nationally and internationally, and performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Last Call with Carson Daly.
Hailing form Newnan, Georgia, Deantoni Parks is a new wave/avant-garde experimental drummer, songwriter, actor and record producer. He has written, toured and collaborated with T-Bone Burnett, Bosnian Rainbows, The Mars Volta, Meshell Ndegeocello, John Cale of The Velvet Underground, Yoko Ono, Moby, Basement Jaxx, and Cody Chesnutt. Additionally, Deantoni wrote and played drums for the Grand Theft Auto 5 original soundtrack, and is co-founder of Dark Angels alongside producer and keyboardist Nicci Kasper, as well as a member of KUDU.
After meeting almost 15 years ago through jazz/funk trio Soulive, Keaton Simons and Deantoni Parks have not only been close friends, but true admirers of each other’s respective work. Best Revenge is the first of what they hope will be many collaborative projects. Fans will have the opportunity to catch them live in Austin, Texas this week at SXSW. (See schedule below.)

Fresh off their successful North American tour supporting St. Lucia, Los Angeles based band Sir Sly, release the video for their cover rendition of Drake’s song “Marvin’s Room.”
“We always said that if we covered a song it would be ‘Marvin’s Room.’ The song came out years ago and we were still listening to it all the time when we were on the road in the van. We used to play it stripped down in Jason’s studio as a “what if we did this” kind of thing. And then one day we just decided to record it for fun.”
Rock band O.A.R. are well known for their incredible live performances that have seen them play to sold out audiences in iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden and Red Rocks. The band has built their following off of extensive touring as well as a string of hit singles such as “Love and Memories,” “Shattered,” and now their current single “Peace.” “Peace”–the brand new song from their upcoming album–is a first for the band’s new label Vanguard Records.
“Peace” is the kind of anthemic song that has made O.A.R. a successful recording and touring band for well over a decade, garnering immediate major market airplay at radio stations across the country. Beginning today, fans can purchase the single on iTunes.
O.A.R. is currently finishing up the new album which was written and recorded in Nashville, Maryland, and New York City. It’s the band’s first studio album for Vanguard and their 8th overall. O.A.R. has also released five live albums, including their acclaimed CD/DVD from Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside of Denver.

Kid Cudiwowed fans with the release of his full-length new album, Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon [Wicked Awesome / Republic Records], at midnight on iTunes and all other digital retailers in North America.
Surprising countless fans worldwide, the Grammy Award-winning artist, songwriter, producer, and actor uncovered the album today without any prior hints or notice at all. It’s also only available in its entirety for one week as a full album purchase.
Cudi has been secretly preparing his latest work since wrapping up his last tour supporting 2013’s critically regarded chart-topper, Indicud, which was the #1 hip-hop album in the country upon release.
Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon once again sees the artist steering hip-hop to another galaxy altogether. Already, he gave listeners a taste of the set with the transfixing “Going To The Ceremony”. The album also includes a detour into “space” soul with Raphael Saadiq entitled “Balmain Jeans”, marking their first collaboration. Tempering otherworldly production with his inimitable vocal hooks and divine flow, it’s another entrancing and enigmatic vision from the rap auteur.
Power-trioEmperor Yes – London producer Ash Gardner along with Adam Betts of Three Trapped Tigers and Hugo Sheppard – release their latest single “The End Of The World” through Young And Lost Club, and herald of their approaching debut album.
An analogue anthem to the apocalypse, “The End Of The World” tells the tale of Earth-bound creatures submitting to fiery armageddon – set to a soundtrack of technicolor synthesiser riffs and heavenly harmonies. It’s how they would have wanted to go out.
Previous singles “Wasps” (“Sounds like a dream where the Unicorns and Yoshimi-era Flaming Lips collaborate with Summer Camp” – Pitchfork) and “Cosmos” (“a beast of a song, all gargantuan synth riffs and apocalypse-sized drums” – The Guardian) were similarly concerned with our own significance, connection to the bestial world and finding a place in the universe.
This trilogy of Emperor Yes singles have been appropriately visualised: “Wasps” was a paean to 80s VHS horror films and the “antpocalypse” (and subsequent revenge) was witnessed in “Cosmos” – both directed by video mega-lord Chris Boyle (Call of Duty, The Who, Dizzee Rascal, Warp). “The End Of The World” director Raul Gonzo (Enter Shikari, Thom Yorke, David Lynch) has the band playing a final house party as the world collapses around them, while guests act out roles of doomed animals.
