Santigold Tour Dates!

“there was no question one of 2012’s pop queens was certainly in the building.”
– SPIN

“Santigold remade South By Southwest into an eccentric dance party” – Billboard

Santigold has announced her first US tour in support of her forthcoming album Master of My Make-Believe, due out May 1 on Atlantic Records/Downtown Records. The tour comes on the heels of her recent performances at SXSW, which exploded into dance parties and received rave reviews. Armed with her hybrid anthems, misfit band, and unstoppable dancers, the SG1s, her singular live shows are always monumental. Prepare for the gold rush of 2012!

Santigold recently released the first single from Master of My Make-Believe, “Disparate Youth,” which Rolling Stone called a “party-starting blast of a single – which combines dub wobble, post-punk skronk and pop hooks into a 100 percent hands-in-the-air jam.” The mesmerizing video finds her on a journey to find twin oracles. Earlier this year she released the animated video for her drum line stomper “Big Mouth”.

The Dig – “Red Rose in the Cold Winter Ground”

New York rock band The Dig will release their new album Midnight Flowers on May 29th via Buffalo Jump Records. After releasing their acclaimed debut album Electric Toys in 2010, and having toured with artists such as Portugal. The Man, The Joy Formidable, Thrice, The Editors, The Antlers and The Walkmen, band members David Baldwin (Guitar/Vocals), Emile Mosseri (Bass/Vocals), Erick Eiser (Keyboards/Guitar), and Mark Demiglio (Drums) are ready to share their new music with the world. The band will embark on a national tour supporting the release of Midnight Flowers alongside Ben Kweller and Sleeper Agent this March, April and May.

“Although seemingly somber on the surface, the track’s jarring bassline and random, punctuating drums make for a dynamic, albeit reserved moment of great rock and roll transcendence.” – Consequence of Sound

“Without a doubt, The Dig have released one of the year’s best records” – Last.fm Discover

“This is the catchiest, most intriguing power pop band to emerge outof the no-name pile in some time.  –Pop Matters

Newest Love: Zulu Winter – “We Should Be Swimming”

“…music that shimmers like a sky full of fireworks” NME

catchy and anthemic indie-dance” – The Guardian

UK reverby rockers” – BrooklynVegan

Perseverance and dedication are two things that the members of Zulu Winter are very familiar with. The four guys from Oxfordshire, England came together in their teens over a shared love of music and have been collaborating ever since. Now, twelve years after their first practice as a band, Zulu Winter is gearing up to release Language, a debut album that has the immediate appeal of pop while at the same time packed with emotional insight. Inspired by everything from 19th century literature to obscure ‘60s electronica, Language will be released in North America on June 19th via Arts & Crafts.

Language is a collection of multi-dimensional songs that bleed with sentiment and syncopated dance beats. The album opens with “Key To My Heart,” a sincere message of love that showcases the depth and richness of the band’s sound with layers of swirling instrumentation. The upbeat “Silver Tongue” is driven by an energetic bass line that leads to a danceable chorus. “Bitter Moon” is an emotionally charged track hinged on a powerful chorus, inviting listeners to experience a vulnerable side of the band. “We Should Be Swimming” is a melancholic pop-song running over a compelling rhythm. Zulu Winter released a chilling video for the track, and today they have released the song as a free MP3 download.

Dragonette have spent the last two years working on special and successful collaborations. “Fire In Your New Shoes, ” their pairing with Kaskade, was a huge club hit worldwide, and one of the 4 songs they did with French DJ Martin Solveig, “Hello,” was a pop hit across the globe, going Top 10 in over 30 countries, achieving platinum status in the USA, getting synched 150 times in the process, and leading to Mr. Solveig producing Madonna. Now the band turn their attention to their own material again.

The track is a collaboration with producer Felix Blowxsom, who has worked with Sia and Empire of the Sun, and produces, remixes, and DJs under the Plastic Plates moniker. MP3: Nneka – “My Home” (Coki of Digital Mystikz Remix)

It’s been over two years since Nigerian-German songstress, Nneka, has toured the United States, and with the upcoming release of her third album, Soul Is Heavy, she’s more than ready to return.

Nneka has also just released the Coki (Digital Mystikz) remix of “My Home” (premiered on Fader) which offers listeners a lively rendition of the heartfelt lyrics and powerful vocals derived from the original track. Nneka explains the song as the realization that “there is no peace on Earth until you accept that both bad and good are part of life.”

Encompassing a combination of hip hop beats, reggae grooves, brass riffs and African-pop, Nneka’s album Soul Is Heavy is a raw and honest window into her beliefs of love, pain, politics and God. The album will be released on February 28th on Yo Mama’s Recordings/Decon.

New track: Plants and Animals – “Lightshow”

“Proggy without being self-indulgent…folky without being boring. They’ve got enough pop chops to keep even the most casual music fan’s ears glued to the stereo.” – KUT Austin

“Punching into the Canadian band’s strolling folk rock are these warm, tall sips of guitar solos. They sound as if they’re conjured from the shag-carpet of an old 70′s studio — it’s palpable as shit.” – Consequence of Sound

“Clocking in at a lean three and a half minutes, ‘Lightshow’ is neither stripped-down or overblown — instead, it’s a perfect example of rock ‘n’ roll precision…that sort of big-time, anthemic rock song that says what it has to say in a half-dozen ways, and as hard as it may try, never goes out of style.” – MTV Hive

Plants and Animals are pleased to announce a North American tour this March and April in support of their new album, The End of That, out February 28 on Secret City. This is the band’s first tour as a four piece, having added a bassist to their live show.

The band will also release a 7” for ‘Lightshow’, the first single off of The End of That, which will be available in stores on the same day as the CD/LP. The 7” features a live cover of Wolf Parade’s “I’ll Believe in Anything” on the B-side. A digital version of the 7” is available now via iTunes and other online retailers.

The live cover comes from the band’s “Live at Breakglass” performance during the Pop Montreal Festival in September of last year. The renowned Montreal studio hosted a combined live recording / intimate concert event as part of the tenth anniversary of the festival. Plants and Animals celebrated the milestone by covering local Montreal acts in addition to performing their own material.
