Following the release of her third album 99¢on Atlantic Records, Santigoldhas revealed the standalone version of her innovative video for “Can’t Get Enough Of Myself (feat. B.C.),” one that viewers can enjoy without webcam access. The video features Jay Z, Andy Samberg, Alexander Wang, Olivia Wilde, Pharrell Williams, Yung Jake, and Santi herself, and some of her fans popping up as she walks through New York City.
The original interactive version of the video (posted here) uses the camera of the viewer’s computer or mobile device to incorporate them into the video in real time. It was directed by Santigold and Sam Fleischner and conceptualized and digitally developed by Yung Jake and Vince Mckelvie, with mobile app development by Bryan Yee. It plays on pop culture’s fascination with viewing and manipulating one’s own image. The video should be viewed on the web using Chrome as the browser and is available for mobile handheld devices via the “SANTIGOLD” app available in both the Apple/Android app stores. Experience it at Santigold.com/Webcam

Here’s the first video of The Wack Wednesdays Series:
The Lonely Island recently released The Wack Album’s lead single, “YOLO” (feat. Adam Levine and Kendrick Lamar), which has garnered over 40 million views on YouTube in only three months. The trio also boasts a staggering 1.2 billion overall views on their YouTube channel. Their 2011 album Turtleneck & Chain, which debuted at #3 on Billboard, was nominated for a Grammy® in the category of “Best Comedy Album” and featured such talents as Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Snoop Dogg, Santigold, and Beck. The album’s first smash single “I Just Had Sex” (feat. Akon) was certified platinum. The second single, “The Creep” (feat. Nicki Minaj and John Waters) has over 74 million YouTube views. Additional singles, “Jack Sparrow” (feat. Michael Bolton) has 105 million views and “Threw It On The Ground” has 52 million views on YouTube.
Their 2009 debut album, Incredibad, included Emmy® winning sensation “D*** In A Box,” featuring Justin Timberlake. The album also featured the follow-up gold records “J**z In My Pants” and “Like a Boss” which have over 234 million views combined on YouTube. The Grammy® nominated third single “I’m On A Boat” (feat. T-Pain) went platinum and catapulted the album into over 430,000 copies sold making it the #1 selling comedy album in 2009 and 2010. The trio established themselves with the enormously popular series of corresponding Digital Shorts for their singles, which were frequently featured on Saturday Night Live beginning with the debut of the pop culture sensation “Lazy Sunday” in 2005.
Tegan and Sara’s seventh studio album, Heartthrob, is out today (iTunes link, Spotify link). Everyone seems to be talking about the album and first single, “Closer” (which I posted the video for, here) The girls released songs early on a wide range of outlets including Vanity Fair, Glamour and NPR via All Songs Considered. Heartthrob premiered in its entirety with Rolling Stone, who have been huge supporters.
To say there’s a lot going on right now would be an understatement. The girls are on the cover of the new digital issue of Spin, scored a massive feature in The Wall St Journal, covered the Rolling Stones classic “Fool To Cry” for the soundtrack to the HBO smash series Girls and were just announced as one of the top line attractions at Coachella. They’ll be performing “Closer” this Thursday, January 31st on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
