Check out this video from Sydney, Australia’s The Money Go Round.
The Money Go Round is a means of expression for five Sydney artists who have all had a passion for art and music throughout their lives. It is the product of years of experimentation, to develop a nucleus that promotes creative collaboration. Their debut single “YAYAYA” is about wanting something you can’t have. It sounds like falling down a waterfall into a bucket of rainbow paint. “YAYAYA” was produced by TMGR and Tracked/Mixed and Mastered through 301 Studios, Sydney.
The Money Go Round would very much like to embody the rock/psychedelic genre, TMGR are set to achieve a sound with longevity that is both modern and vintage, and drive their music with strong and memorable live performances.
For fans of: The Black Keys, Tame Impala, Kasabian, Black Lips, The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys.
AND, if ya fancy, you can go download “YAYAYA” for free, too.
On October 23, Matador will release the 2nd solo album from Interpol vocalist/guitarist Paul Banks. With Banks, Paul ditches the Julian Plenti alter-ego, and the resulting 10-song album is a tour-de- force of exhilarating minor-key intensity.
Banks was recorded in New York and Connecticut with producer Peter Katis (Interpol, The National, Shearwater, Jónsi…). The album is personal and epic, catchy and serpentine – much like your favorite Interpol albums – with Paul’s wry humor, bare emotion, and varied influences all in full effect.
The California-based DJ, producer and virtuosic maestro of all things bassy, and the man who has singlehandedly sold more hard concert tickets in North America than any other EDM artist this year (Deadmau5, Guetta, Skrillex, Avicii, Tiesto…the lot!) – is about to set off on his most gargantuan European tour yet!
Aptly christened “Bassnectar’s European Vacation” the original long-haired, dubbed-up superstar will play a total of 13 shows throughout Europe this summer, taking on a mixture of mammoth club gigs and eye-watering festival stages. Watch the official tour video below:
In preparation for the colossal occasion he’s also now decided to share a tasty, eclectic, bass-driven MIXTAPE.
“These are a few insane bangers which I decided to compile for my month long summer vacation in Europe. We will be hitting 13 shows (festivals & clubs) and this is a selection of dirty music which I hope you enjoy when you find yourself in a high-speed chase, or tightrope-walking between skyscrapers in a windy metropolis, or sumo-wrestling someone much larger than you…” – Bassnectar
Back in May, I posted about Milkman and some ‘dope dancin’ downloads’ to grab. Now, The Los Angeles-based producer has served up another summer track in anticipation of his performance at Jay Z’s Made In America Festivalon September 2nd. See below to go check out “Neon Eyes.”
Emerging from the burgeoning mash-up scene of a few years ago Milkman has become one of the premiere up and coming electro / progressive house artists in the country with his most recent EP Fragments reaching #2 on the iTunes electronic chart in it’s first week of release.
Ghost Wave are one of those rare new bands that already knows exactly what they want. The last time we heard this much rookie talent from Auckland, New Zealand, it came in the form of The Naked & Famous, and we all know how that turned out (well. Very well.). On debut single “Sunsetter,” The Wave set their sights high and aim straight for anthem status, constructing two and half minutes of sunkissed 70’s bliss around a massive Dandy Warhols Lick that hides in the crosshairs of Deerhunter and Tame Impala. – Neon Gold Records
Ghost Wave is a rock ‘n roll band from Auckland, New Zealand. Inspired by skate vids, persian rugs and the music of Little Richard. 2012 will see the release of new Ghost Wave material including the release of an eponymous EP on August 21st, via +1 Records. A debut full-length is slated for release in 2013.
Indie-electronic dance band, Gemini Club, are pleased to announce their new tour dates for this September. The three-piece have wowed their hometown of Chicago for the past two years with their unique live shows and now, for the first time, are expanding their live performance to North America’s North East. The band will be performing songs from the Future Tidings EP as well as their lastest EP release, Here We Sit.
Part of the band’s live allure lies within their tech-savvy nature. Known for their innovative techniques, the band have developed their own “rigs” which allow on-the-fly remixing of the songs, creating one-of-kind performances unlike any other.
In addition, the band will be carrying out a new mixtape series every month. Pigeons and Planes has just premiered the first of the series which can be heard and downloaded here. Furthermore, the band has recently released their third single from the Here We Sit EP, “Sparklers”.
Last month I posted about my newest love, Eyes Lips Eyes. Now, they’ve partnered with music aggregation site We Are Hunted to launch a free download of their hit-song “Tickle.” The song is the lead track from their forthcoming EP What You Want (If You Want) due out August 21 via Roll Call Records/ILG. The newcomers have already earned praise from MTV, who declares it “A wild indie rock dance party…It’s kinda nice to hear an indie act that trades in too-cool-for-school seriousness for hand claps and a sick bass line.”
This Fall, Eyes Lips Eyes will crisscross the nation on an extensive tour that includes stops in Los Angeles, Austin, New Orleans, Atlanta, New York and Boston. See below for details!

Youngblood Hawke has a shiny brand new self-titled debut EP out TODAY! The quintet’s anthemic new single “We Come Running” is iTunes’ official Single Of The Week and is available for a FREE download.
MA: What do you think about the success of “We Come Running”?
YBH: It’s unexpected! We felt really close to the song and knew people would connect with it on some level, but the response has been overwhelming! We couldn’t be happier with how people are responding!
MA: What’s the first thing you want to do when the debut EP is released? (That’s TODAY!)
YBH: Sit in the sun for a second… open a beer, deep breath. Drink it. Chill out for like 15 more minutes, then head back into the studio and keep writing! Can’t stop!
MA: What’s been your summer theme song?
YBH: Brett Dennen – Must be Losing My Mind. Soul and bass grooves for days.
MA: I just interviewed your labelmates The Royal Concept. Do you know their song, “Gimme Twice”?
YBH: Sounds rad! Just listened! Picked up on the Phoenix influence. Solid jam!
MA: What’s your favorite food to eat in a hurry?
YBH: Fast food? Um, those Natural Valley nature bars. Oat’s N Honey booooy!
MA: What are you most looking forward to right now? (It can be anything; something in the next hour, the next few days, weeks, years…)
YBH: I most looking forward to traveling. Im so anxious to get out there and start playing for different crowds. See new things! Meet new people! Also, I’m going to Subway in about 17 minutes.
MA: What’s your next goal…no matter how big or small?
YBH: My next goal is to chase down and shatter Usain Bolt’s 100m world record.
MA: What song from your new album do you think fans will love the most (that hasn’t been heard yet)?
YBH: I can’t wait for people to hear “Dreams” or “Apache Heart.” Haven’t locked in a name yet. It shows a different side of us. Its funky, eery, dancy and has an surprise guest feature!
Remix master (among many other things) Jacques Lu Cont put his golden touch on Coldplay’s “Charlie Brown”, garnering radio love in the UK from Pete Tong and Annie Mac.
Montreal’s Men Without Hats will soon be taking their timeless performance back on the road in support of their new album Love In The Age of War (out now on Cobraside Records). During 2011’s “Dance If You Want” tour, Men Without Hats opened every show with their single “This War.” Today, they are sharing the single, which just premiered on AOL’s Spinner, in honor of their upcoming tour dates. The track is an uplifting blend of the band’s distinguished synthpop sound, accentuated by Ivan’s distinctive baritone croon.
Love In The Age of War marked the band’s their first album release in albums 10 years and features 10 original songs written by Ivan Doroschuk. Produced by Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy, Marilyn Manson), Love In The Age of War features charismatic front man Ivan (voice & electronics), his brother Colin Doroschuk (vocals), as well as Lou Dawson (vocals & live keyboards), and James Love (guitars). In 2011, Men Without Hats soared back into the scene with their breakout performance at SXSW, followed by an extensive, well-received North American tour.
Since forming in the late 70’s, the band released six studio albums – having songs featured on hit TV series such as Glee, The Simpsons, Futurama and Family Guy. Their 1980’s hit “The Safety Dance” reached Top 10 in the US, the UK and 25 other countries around the world. Their 1987 hit “Pop Goes The World” reached the top 20 in the US and Canada. In 1983, they picked up a Grammy nomination for Best group.
